Sudhir Mishra opens up about his podcast with Vivek Agnihotri; reveals why he will stand with the filmmaker | Hindi Movie News
The ace filmmakers decided to have a conversation after Mishra recently tweeted that the liberal audience doesn’t show up in theatres to watch films that seemingly align with their ideologies. Spilling some beans on the same, Sudhir said that it’s good to see films and make films of all sorts.
Further, the director revealed that he has a disagreement with how ‘The Kashmir Files‘ has been used. According to him, he is a filmmaker who has a different aesthetic but if somebody says Vivek is not allowed to make Kashmir Files, he will stand with him. Mishra believed that every film should be made, adding that we should look at what made the audience connect with the film.
Sudhir also went on to add that it is better to know what’s bubbling in a society rather than to not know. The filmmaker said that there are feelings which are dormant and sometimes people express those feelings through going to see a film like ‘The Kashmir Files’. And according to him, you cannot reject them. You have to listen to them. You have to create an atmosphere where films of a different nature are made and people go and see them and not necessarily like all of them but to interact with different ways of seeing, not merely formulaic ways of seeing.
